New Wolves Head Coach appointed

Stirling County Wolves announce a new Head Coach for season 2020/2021

"As the 2019/2020 season has now officially been ended by Scottish Rugby, County has been planning ahead and can announce some exciting news for the season 2020 /2021. With resignation of Chris Faill, Stirling County Wolves have appointed a new Head Coach to lead the club into the new season.

Former County player, Craig Deacons has decided to throw his all in as the new Head Coach of Stirling County Wolves. “Deacs” is a County boy who will continue the tradition of both growing and developing our players emerging from the buoyant academy at County.

Craig spent 4 years with Grangemouth Stags, gaining experience and honing his coaching skills. Deacs is excited at the challenge of coming back to County in his new role and views it as a great step in his coaching career and an opportunity he couldn’t turn down. "County is significant to me in many ways, I was part of their U18 system and was fortunate to play 17 senior seasons at the club – I know exactly how hard you have to work to pull on the jersey. Taking both my experience as a player and steering the club to many more successful seasons, enabling the next generation of players to reach tier potential as individuals and as a squad”

John Gibson Vice President at Stirling County said, “In the forthcoming season Deacs will work with Eddie Pollock, Director of Rugby, to continue our plan to develop our rugby pathway for young players at Stirling County. Our plans are well in place for the next two years. We have a program centered around player development. As a club, Stirling County is now well placed, as we have several promising young players transferring from our Academy into senior rugby and those attracted to the club because of the rugby pathway we have in place. However, central to all of this is coaching excellence, organisation and player support, all of which are all ingredients in creating a successful sporting environment. We all welcome Deacs back to the club in his new role and look forward to supporting him over the coming seasons"
